Reading..

What I want to read...

... and what I have to read. Actually I should finish 5 similar books this weekend, and make a presentation. Oh well :s

The past few weeks

School stuff. I had to collect articles considering the situation of the European Union, and write my own opinions about it. Easy, but a lot of work...

A birthday present for my classmate- I think I told about the party earlier so I don't bother writing all the stuff again.

And some books I read lately. Paulo Coelho's writing style is very beautiful, and the book was very quick to read. The book about the Caribbean was filled with nice photos- I had to borrow it because the winter (which is supposed to be spring) made me miss the summer.

PS. Sorry for writing 99,9% nonsense! I made this post because I want to try the "schedule the post" -option.. Let's see if it works :)

Books, schoolbooks, books

Sorry for being away for so long.. I've had so many things to do, most of the days I've come home around 8pm and been simply too tired to write! I'll try to get some extra energy:)
I borrowed Sofi Oksanen's book Puhdistus from my friend. It has been translated into English and many other languages as well. It was such a sad and gloomy story, I don't recommend reading it... Except if you like such stories.
The second book is Nanao Sakaki's Let's eat stars!. I saw it in the library and wanted to read because I don't read poems that often. I actually liked some of the poems, and the book was short enough to read in 15 mins, that was nice :)
The latter ones are some study things, not much to say because I haven't read them yet.

I got two armchairs into my room, nice to sit there and read! And notice the penguin slippers ;)

Hahahahaha this has to be the best book ever!!!! This book describes the Finns really well, I laughed so much when I read it... One of the funniest things was a joke about how we think Swedes behave (Swedes, close your eyes so you don't see it!!) :
"Why don't the Swedes drink tea?"
"Because the teabags would get stuck in their throats."

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.

Spring is coming, that can be seen easily because the days are much longer than before. My winter vacation begins next week though... That should be called spring vacation instead. And I'll turn 17 on Sunday! Not having a party though, I'm not a fan of celebrating the fact I get older year by year :s
Have a nice day everybody♥ I'm off to prepare a presentation about Nicolaus Copernicus...

Ps. The header of the post is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Happy Valentine's Day♥

Got a gift from a Dutch friend today♥ Thanks!
Otherwise the day was quite normal, but I got less homework than normally so I have more free time. I need to tidy my room though, because a former classmate of mine will come from Helsinki to stay here for the whole weekend :)

This is the reason why I'm so tired today. I stayed up till 2am reading, slept 4 hours and went to school... I got hooked on it so I wasn't able to stop reading!! The name of the book is Girl in translation in English. I really liked the beginning, but around the halfway the story started to change too fast. It would have been better if it had more pages I guess. A beautiful story anyway, I recommend :) And now I'm back to the travel books again! Which reminds me of that I really need to fill the summerjob application this week. So much to do again...

Isn't it cute? I'm afraid I will never be able to actually use the notebook because I don't want to spoil such cuteness with my horrible handwriting ;)

Yksinäisen miehen juna

Read a book of Mika Waltari again. He's my favorite author and I'd like to read all his books but there are just too many of them for me to go through... So far I've read about 10 of them. This time I read a book called Yksinäisen miehen juna (published in 1929:) which means A lonely man's train in English. The whole book is about Waltari's train trip though Europe: Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey, Italy and France. It's a shame the book hasn't been translated to English (yet!!).

And this is how I spent my weekend... Reading, reading, reading. I read that Waltari's book, some magazines, Haruki Murakami's Norwegian wood in English and also some chemistry things. No wonder why my eyes hurt so much. I actually canceled all the plans for the weekend because I didn't feel like going anywhere, and today I figured out why I felt so tired- I have caught a cold again :(

I just ran out of that Vaseline hand cream. It was one of the best things I got in South korea, or at least one of the things I've been using the most. I bought another hand cream as well, so that my hands won't die in the near future. You know, these freezing cold winters are not good for skin :/

Kirjoja kirjoja kirjojaaaa

Even more books to read! My eyes will hate me forever, as they're not big fans of reading... Maybe I should get glasses or something?

New school books! MOOLI 2 isn't for the 3rd period though, but I bought it already because I need to get good grades :p

Chinese fooood♥ Ate that a looooong ago though.

Pari viime viikkoa kuvina

Just gonna post some random pics this time! I'm just reading that book, Mika Waltari's The Roman. The book has like a million pages, so it takes a long time to finish!! But Waltari's writing style is so awesome that I'll keep reading ;)

I don't feel like writing a lot today- I spent the whole day in downtown so I'm really tired!! I also brought some old clothes to a flea market, hopefully somebody buys them... To Finnish readers, Alppis Store, pöytä 186!

A gift that I made to my mum for her birthday. Actually I painted it at school, but it waited in my room for a while because I didn't know what to do with it... But my mom liked it so I'm really glad!

Flowers! The weather hasn't been really warm lately, about 14-19C... Well, maybe we'll get a couple of 30C days before winter♥

Post from Brazil! There was a Donald Duck magazine, movie, some coins, postcards and a letter there! I'll write about the movie when I have watched it, and postcards will be shown when my door is ready (that'll take forever!!!). In case I haven't told about it yet, I'm covering my doors with postcards....

I used to hate that thing (yoghurt? noooo...), but now I kinda like it... HOW POINTLESS WAS THAT? Well, at least you wasted 10 seconds of your life reading my blog about a weird, yoghurt-like thing that I used to hate...

Galna dagarrr

I hate the discount days of the local mall, I always buy something stupid... Well, this year, I bought a book about marathons! And cheap jeggings that cost only 10€, I couldn't resist them even if they don't look good on me :(

I also got a discount ticket to Qstock 2011, too bad I'm not interested in going there because of the lack of good bands... And I hear the music every year even if I live 7km away from the place the gigs are held :p

Aaaand I borrowed some books from the library! Okay, the second one is the marathon book I bought actually. The other books are about vegetarian foods and cooking ('m not a vegetarian but I got interested in making vegetarian foods for some reason :) but the last one is a ski book, surprise surprise...

Dollars for doughnuts

No, tuossa ylempänä on vähän kuvaa niistä kirjoista, joita mää lainasin.

In English:
Finally the Blogger works again! Or it maybe it was just my computer which was broken? I don't know.
Anyway, here are the books which I borrowed:
Donna Jo Napoli, Bound
Gustaf Sandström, 42-33
Jukka Kolari - Peter Forsgård, Better photos with a Canon EOS- camera
Many artists, The sketchbook

Have you read any of them?
Anyway, I'll write reviews about them later when I've read them :)
Here are some photos from yesterday when I went on a stroll around Oulu.

Purchases from Sweden, 1/2

Noni, tästä se ostospostaus alkaa! Tossa vielä kuva tältä aamulta, unohtu laittaa tohon edelliseen postaukseen. Melkein kaikki lumi on sulanu  jo :<<

Merkki: Marimekko
Hinta: ensimmäinen 5€, toinen 3€
Mistä: Second Hand Store
Muuta: Kaksi Marimekon peruspaitaa, toinen lyhyemmillä ja toinen pidemmillä hihoilla. Piti ostaa kun oli kerta noin halvat.. Ajattelin pitää korkeavyötäröisen mustan hameen kanssa, hameen esittely sitten ensi vaatepostauksessa :)

In English:
I was supposed to take photos of the clothes which I bought from Sweden but these shirts are new too so I also took photos of them.
Brand: Marimekko
Price: the first was 5€ and the second one only 3€
Where did I buy them: Second Hand Store, Oulu
Two basic shirts from Marimekko, which is a Finnish brand. The second shirt has 3/4 sleeves. I'm thinking of wearing them with a high waisted skirt which is new too, I'll intoduce it in the next post about clothes.

Merkki: IKEA
Hinta: ?????
Mistä: IKEA, Haaparanta, Ruotsi
Muuta: Tämmöisiä peruskoreja, tällä hetkellä säilytän Ruotsista ostettuja karkkeja tuolla mutta noista olisi tarkoitus tulla säilytyspaikka sukille ja sukkahousuille kunhan jaksan purkaa entiset korit pois vaatekaapista..

Brand: IKEA
Price: ????
Where did I buy them: IKEA, Haparanda, Sweden
Two baskets. They're still almost empty but I'll store my socks andtights there  later.. The candies which I bought from Sweden are in the baskets now ;)

Merkki: Gina Tricot
Hinta: n. 10€/kpl

Brand: Gina Tricot
Price: 10€ per item
From Gina Tricot in Tornio. The first one is really pink but the second one's color is maybe more like coral? The photos are not so good, sorry! I noticed that I don't really have any pink clothes so I had to buy these t-shirts. The print in the second one is brilliant because I collect almost everything...

Merkki: IKEA
Hinta: alle 5€???
Mistä: IKEA, Haaparanta
Muuta: Mulla on kyllä useampia pareja yötossuja mutta aina tulee jostakin ostettua yhdet lisää....

Brand: IKEA
PRICE: less than 5€???
From IKEA in Haparanda.
I have several pairs of slippers already but I still buy more of them..

Mary Hogan, Pretty Face - Luin kokonaan.
The Big Book of Love Songs - Lainasin tämän ihan vaan saadakseni A whole new worlding nuotit mutta onhan tuossa kirjassa pari muutakin hyvää kappaletta :)

Tuo mainos on kyllä ihan mahtava ;)

English translation:
I got that cute origami crane from my Japanese friend! Thank you sooo much, the crane is really cute!
Well, I introduced some of the books which I borrowed from the library loong time ago and tomorrow I'll return them. Next time I'll try to write small introductions about the books in English too!
I'll spend the rest of the evening playing the piano because I have to learn Annie's song by next week's wednesday. Has anybody ever heard that song??
That video is soooo funny.. But you probably won't understand it unless you're Finnish or Korean ;)
