Knowledge is the treasure of a wise man

The title is a quote by William Penn. Wondering why I chose it? Because the pic above is a little treasure of knowledge: A Swedish-Finnish wordbook from 1949!! My dad bought it when he was in elementary school, and we still have it :)

Today... I need to buy booooooks! I got so much paper from school that it's hard to find the right ones when I need to check something. I also have some plans considering my future, so I'll meet the student counselor on Tuesday! Hopefully everything will be alright :)

PS. I CAN'T ANSWER COMMENTS IN MY BLOG!! (I can send comments to other people's blogs except a couple of my followers' blogs, strange isn't it?)
SOMEBODY HELP MEEEE? :(

Eka koulupäivä ilman kuvia

Today was the first school day and of course I don't have pics about it (except the pics about my outfit, I'll post them later) so I decided just to post some photos that were taken in the summer so that you can watch at least some kind of photos as well.
This photo was taken when my Korean friend was visiting us. I prepared that breakfast all by myself, soooo proud ;)

Sámi language in IKEA! Of course I had to take a pic about it...

Well, today was a surprisingly long day, I had to stay at school till 3-4pm!!! Normally the first days are very short, like last year, when we had only 10 minutes of school... Well, that's probably how upper secondary school is! :< We got so much paper, like timetables and study guides etc. Luckily that part didn't last too long (9.30-11.30am), and then the funny part started! We were divided in groups of 9 people and we had to walk around the school & university area, which is next to our school as well and play little games, such as quizzes. Each class had 3 teams (mine was team number 2) and the best class got prizes! And guess which class won??? MY CLASS♥ We got small bars of chocolate as a reward ;)

I ♥ those IKEA lamps!!!! Too bad it'd look terrible in my room :(

Tomorrow I must go to school at 8.15 in the morning, and the whole day will we filled with information about studying in upper sec. school (it means basically the same as high school, but somebody has decided to call it upper secondary school here). The ''real'' lessons start on Monday, and the first lesson is maths of course!!!! I always seem to have math on the first lesson on Mondays...

PS. 2 NEW FOLLWERS!!!
THANK YOU!

You can't learn in school what the world is going to do next year. - Henry Ford

Today is officially the last day of my summer holidays, and it's raining again... Well, here's tomorrow's plan: I have to wake up at 6 o'clock to get ready and around 9 my best friend comes here and we go to school together. 3 hours of preparing may sound crazy but I'm a slooooow person when it comes to that.

He/she was walking though our yard just a few days ago !! SOOO CUTE♥

I dyed my hair yesterday, and took a quick photo just to show how it looks now. The color cannot been seen very well though... It was supposed to be (and so it seems in this photo) brown, but it turned out a bit reddish!

Pili pili pom

A typical rainy day of mine:
• Playing The Sims 2
• Reading Donald Duck magazines that my aunt gave me years ago (from 2002!)
+ plenty of chocolate
++ Watching Disney theme parks' websites... Hopeless dreams♥
+++ Napping all day long
Oww, I feel so terrible now... Too much food + no exercise + rain + school starts soon = disaster !!!
(If you read yesterday's post, you may wonder why I didn't go to the Red Cross meeting, the only reason is that it's not today, it's tomorrow... That's what happens when I'm on vacation, I just forget everything! Luckily I have a new school calendar now so I can start writing all the important things down again)
So, here's the plan for tomorrow:
7 o'clock in the morning a plumber comes to our house to fix the leaking radiator. And I should dye my hair before that (I'm afraid something goes wrong and our shower won't work anymore which would mean that I'd have to go to school with my lovely orange hair on the first day!!!! So, my goal is to wake up at 6). If the fixing takes longer than 1,5 hours, I need to stay at home to help/observe him because my dad has to go to work.
When the plumber has finished fixing the radiator, I must hurry to the flea market to fill my table with clothes & CDs and all other things that I want to sell. I have about 4 weeks left, and after that I'll stop keeping the table. The Red Cross meeting will be at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and at 5 I should be in the city centre in order to do some shopping with my best friend. I have nothing to buy though... And no money. Well, maybe I can get some notebooks or sth. In the evening I go to gym to exercise a bit. Luckily I can enter the gym 5.30am - 10.30pm with the card I purchased, so it doesn't matter if window shopping takes a long time.

I forgot to post the picture of the calendar last month, so you can see it at the top of the post. The funny thing about July's page is that there's a watermelon in it. You may wonder why I consider it funny, but here's a little story from my childhood:
When I was ~11 years old, one of my classmates had just started to learn Japanese. I also knew some words in it, but she obviously knew a lot more than me. She asked me if I knew what スイカ (Suika, watermelon) is, and I didn't know, sho she told me. I thought I was stupid because I didn't know what it was, so I still remember that word ;)

Sorry for writing such a long post today! But as a matter of fact, I also have a poll to you guys. Please comment me which one of them you prefer:
1. Long posts with lots of text and pictures
2. Short posts, pictures and just a few words
3. Only pictures
4. Only text (HAHA NO WAY!)

The picture above is what I found when I cleaned the house:

Epälaiskan päivän asu

This is a very rare photo, be glad to see it... Me without fringe! Since I got my fringe (7th or 8th grade), I've always had it when I go away from home! I bet you wonder why. Because when you have a fringe, it looks really strange if you try to ''hide'' it! Well, at least it's my opinion... Anyway, the reason why I don't have it in this picture is that I was going to the swimming hall and didn't want to wash my hair at home because I'd have to wash it there of course! I think it turned out quite well, even if I still hate leaving the house ''without'' my fringe :p

Aaand the outfit! Basic as always ♥
Hoodie, H&M, 19,95€
Shirt, from Turkey, Olé NOSTALGIA, can't remember the price
Shorts, H&M, 19,95€
Flip-flops, Havaianas (♥), can't remember the price
Plastic bag, from Ataturk Airport, Turkey! Maybe some of you have noticed that I always seem to have a plastic bag with me... I have a huge collection of plastic bags from foreign countries (Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Japan, Spain and Turkey so far), and I can't throw them away so I try to use them as much as I can. And finally, when the bag is really dirty/broken, I can throw it away... Maybe.
Luckily you can't see it in the photo, but I hit my toe somewhere when I was in Turkey, and my toenail is still blue/black!!!! It looks so horrible :<

Some bluebells (actually it's not exactly a bluebell, it's a Campanula rapunculoides, thanks to Wikipedia) in our yard! It's supposed to be summer now, but when I woke up in the morning it was only 10C ! ! ! Well, school starts on Thursday so autunum is allowed to come. Because I cannot enjoy the summer at school ayway ;)

And by the way, guess what I'll do tomorrow! Actually I've two things to do: I go to a Red Cross meeting (more about that later) and shopping! I REALLY REALLY REALLY need new shoes...

BYEBYEBYE ♥

More vintage stuff from our summerhouse! From 1970s!!

The first rainbow I've seen this summer... Actually there were two of them but the other one disappeared too quickly. Sorry for bad photo, I was in a car so I couldn't take a better one.

Paketti Englannista ja shoppailun tuotoksia

A biiiig thank you to my English relative!

And recent gets! FOCUS magazine because I was really bored and needed something to read. Maybe you can't see it, but there's also Lumene eyebrow control brush, which was a good purchase indeed! And a basic hoodie + cardigan from H&M. Maybe you've noticed that I don't write about clothes & shopping as much as I used to. The reason is that I'm saving money for *TOP SECRET*. Maybe I'll tell it in... 3 years or so. And, in addition to that, I'm not as materialistic as before (or at least I hope so!). I've sold a lot stuff in the local flea market, even some things I actually like but don't need anymore. So, the subject of my blog has changed and will change a lot ;)

An old pendulum clock

We have this one in our summerhouse, but we don't use it because of the noise it makes...

I got a 10€ voucher from my favorite Turkish clothing brand: Mavi Jeans. The only problem is that I have no idea what to buy because they sell mostly jeans and I don't want to buy jeans from the internet... Well, I have 2 months to make my decicion, hopefully I'll find something very nice♥

I've been into these vitamin drinks for a while now. I usually drink it while exercising, and today I really needed it because it was my first time to try BodyCombat! It's a workout based on martial arts, such as Muay Thai (Thai boxing) and karate. I really enjoyed BodyCombat, even if it was really hard ;)

Uiskentelua ja kuntosaleilua

Finally I got these cards! The white one is a 10-time pass to the local swimming hall and the orange one is 1 month pass to the local gym ;) So I've been training a lot these days... But today I have a free day from training and I'm really bored!
